so do broody hens take care?

if i placed eggs under a broody hen which werent even her breed, would she still take care of em?

Yep, I hatch several different species of pheasants under broody hens every year.

Yes indeed, unless the eggs are a different colour perhaps!
not sure if they can tell the difference in colours and spots.

My Hen Carrie has 8 chicks that are 3 weeks old today. None of the eggs were from her. She takes care of them wonderfully. I do not think they know the difference.

some broodies even hatch and raise ducklings for the folks here!!!

Just please be careful when you mix ducks and geese with chickens, turkeys and gamebirds. I had a friend who hatched out turkeys with a duck and some of them followed "mom" into the water and actually drowned before she could separate them.
