So eggcited!

My BO chooks are almost 21 weeks old and have huge red combs. Can’t wait for those eggs! Here’s my question, when will they start to lay? Can I help them along? My approach to chickens in the past hasn’t been very hands-on, so this is kinda new to me.

Mine are 23 weeks and I finally got an egg this morning. Nothing to do but wait. The first egg is very exciting!

The answer is, any day now or not for a while. Darn chickens are like a watched pot, the more you want it, the longer it takes! Really, if their combs are that red, seems like they should start soon.

Two of them have whopper combs and wattles, the other two have small red ones. Just glad I’m getting closer!
