The tin we are going to use will be scraps left over from other projects...I think the front is going to be green...the top beige, and the back and sides may possible be white... lol But I don't care, as long as it works!

For the hardware cloth on the doors I stapled it and then framed it in with 1x4's to secure it even more with screws.

Awesome job I am going to attempt to build a grow out coop on my own soon..hope i can do as well as you

Great job!

I wanted to build mine (I love the satisfaction of completing something on my own)- dh is way too busy already, and not crazy about chickens- but he's already got it framed in!

Wonderful job!! You should be very proud of yourself and so should your DH!! My DH built the runs to my first two coops but I didn't have the heart to ask with #3 and #4 so I did them myself. My DH is a perfectionist builder and everything has to be "square" - needless to say the two runs I built are definitely NOT square but as you said, the chickens certainly don't care and I was very proud of myself!! Keep up the great work!! Self sufficient gals rock!!!

It's perfect, they'll love it!!

Don't know how hot it gets there but you may end up throwing some white paint on the tin, it can get pretty hot. And maybe some more ventilation, but the chicks will let you know.

Congratulations, you did a wonderful job.

It gets pretty hot here, but during the day the chickens completly free range. My other coop is full tin too. The roof is white, so that will help, plus we are going to move it this summer to a different location, under a shade tree.

Plus...I am one that has been known to put frozen 2 liter bottle of water in the waterer to keep it cool...
