Greetings from rural New Hampshire!
Last Sunday I joined up to BYC and I am so thankful that I did! About 2 hours later one of our 4 month-old NH Reds was attacked by a huge hawk. I saw the hawk beating down on Jester (the chick) and started screaming so the hawk flew away. Jester was in a terrible shape with a huge gash on the side of her neck and having problems moving. BUT, since I sent on BYC and found so much wonderful advice on how to treat Jester, she is thriving and happy.

so glad Jester is doing well, I saw online saddles that have 2 eyes on them to deter hawks, we are getting saddles for our hens, we do not have hawks but to protect them from our rooster
