I'm so excited! I was watching the girls in their new coop/run and I caught them rolling around in the dirt and kicking it up on them! It was so darn cute! Should I amend the dirt in their run w/ DE? I was thinking of putting a layer of sand in there (maybe a couple of inches) and mixing in some DE??

I am really enjoying getting to know my girls (I hope they're all girls)! What can I say... I'm a newbie and obviously easily entertained.

Sand mixed with some DE is always a good idea.
I get mine at JC Feed in Lakeside food grade for a pretty good price, compared to others on here on BYC.

I dug a small hole in my run then filled with fine sand,but so far they like the dirt better..
