So here's tonight's end result

Use electrical tape. You can cut shapes out that you'd want on the egg then stick them on, dye the egg like normal and then peel the tap off afterwards. Voila! Insta-shapes! L0L.

Dude that is an awesome idea!!!!

I was talking more like these:

Boggles my mind!!!!

But, that electrical tape idea..that is simply ingenious! Thank you!

I tried the oil and vinegar method, but it didn't work,I used a recipe i found on here, in the recipes forum! Next year I will try it again, but use I T, spoon oil , 1 T. spoon vinegar and the rest water, then the drops of food coloring. I think I used way to much oil, all it did was foam up! The dye wouldn't stay on the eggs! The oil is supposed to make a marbling effect!
Oh well we still had fun trying!

Did you hear about the Grandfather who had invited his grand kids over for Easter Morning? He thought he'd suprise them, so the night before he went out and put colored eggs under the hens so the grandkids could "find" them the next morning. Bright and early the kids came over. He gave each one a basket and told them to go gather eggs for breakfast. In a few minutes they all came back...baskets empty. They told him he better go look in the henhouse, it was a mess in there. Sure enough, when he checked there were feathers everywhere. It seems when the rooster came in, he took one look at the eggs and then beat the crap out of the peacock.

Those look like acrylic paints...painted on with a paint brush... those do not look like they are dyed.

If you take the egg dipper and hold the egg half way in one color...hold till desired color...let dry...then flip around and hold in another color...you can overlap and essentially make the egg have 3 colors...

example: blue...purple....red (because blue and red make purple)

With a clear crayon you can make designs or write names or words and the wax prevents the dye from dying that part of the egg.

Those eggs above I bet took someone quit a bit of time and patience and are hand painted.
