So...how does the "day old chick" shipping work?

I've already got mine...not looking to order...but just curious. I don't know when mine hatched. I just know when I got them.

Do they hatch one day, and ship the next? They don't ship them the same day they hatch, do they? I can't imagine they would!

My chicks were in a mixed order with others.... they were at the PO at 6am Monday morning. So I'm assuming that they shipped from McMurray on Saturday. (which I don't necessarily like....but....) I think I'm about 5-6 hours from McMurray.... but I'm thinking my chicks are probably already a week old now! Wow...time's flyin!

Oh wow.... I thought they'd give them time to make sure they were well and strong.....guess not.

the reason they do it the way they do , is because the chicks can go for three days without food or water right after they hatch

We pull from incubator and ship as fast as we can.
