Chicken manure makes great fertilizer in gardens. Do you keep your chickens in an enclosed area with a coop?

They will be in a 10x15 converted shed coop with a 5 x 8 x 16 (H,W,L) Run. I plan on keeping them in the run until fall after the fruit is all off of the plants. I don't want them stealing my fruits, but I am sure they will get their fare share. The raspberries I have all seem to ripen at the same time and I only freeze so much.
