Happened to move my well-house today and was shocked to find all these eggs. I thought they were not laying much due to the heat. Only two hens lay in the nesting boxes inside the coop. I have fake eggs in the boxes. How can I figure out where they are laying now and how can I get them to lay in the coop? Should I lock them in for a few days. If I lock the laying hens in, I kind of have to lock the roosters and youngsters in also.

When I have to go on an egg hunt, I let my chickens out later in the afternoon and watch to see which ones make a beeline for an out of the way place. If I follow them too closely, though, they don’t go to their hidden nests right away. Just watch from a distance. I lock mine in the coop/attached run when they need to be retrained to the nest.

thank you great advice

Check to make sure there's not a bully hen guarding the nest box, can be more then one hen.
I've seen my top two hen kick any other hens trying to use the nest box. So I added one additional box in another area. That seem to do the trick.
thank you!!
