Ahhh in that case I'm giving them a case of oranges! They are laying on super speed and I can't keep up. I'm selling them for $3 a doz so that helps but they are laying like crazy. They did all winter too.

Funny story!

I can't see how citrus would cause ill effects in birds. We used to feed the parrots at the sanctuary orange pieces all the time. Sometimes they would get grapefruit too. Never seemed to bother them too much!

chickens are one of the only animals to produce their own vitamin c. Its produced in their liver.So they dont need citrus and may cause an imbalance.

Potato peels, tomato leaves, citrus, the compost pile, a few loose nuts, and stryofoam... I've had chickens eat all these things and nobody got sick.

This is true,,, after some of the garbage (literally) that my birds eat,,, and I was worried about an orange???
