Well not really. I got 2 eggs from my BO and ISABrown, 68 and 70 grams.

We have approximately 7-10 inches of snow on the ground so I fed my birds up in the coop. They would have been lost in the snow it I had let them out. One of my SLW was running all over the coop. Taking a bite out of the 2 pans ( of food) now and again. Talk about flighty. She was running over the other 3 chickens. I have 2 SLW. She would get in a nesting box and scratch around and then run into the next one and scratch there. She was beside herself trying to lay an egg. I think this was her first. The other SLW has laid a couple. So I shooed the other 3 birds downstairs, closed the coop door, and let her calm down. She was panting, and singing, and scratching. But she wouldn't really "sit". Up, down, scratch, get in another box. I watched quietly and she noticed me but seemed not to mind. So I closed up the coop, came inside for about 15 min and then went back out. She had lain an egg. 40 grams. So I suppose I got 2 3/4 eggs today. I hope those 2 SLW start laying some larger eggs. BO and ISABrown are in their second year laying and have laid all winter in spite of my lightless, unheated, uninsulated coop. Pine shavings I keep putting back in the nest boxes to no avail. I got NO EGGS yesterday. About 1 day a week without any. :plbb:plbb:plbb

If that was your girl's 1st egg, they should get larger over time. At least she laid in the nesting box! Several of mine seem to just drop their 1st eggs where ever they happen to be. :)

My 2 SLW have good teachers. My other 2 primarily lay over night. If I don't have 2 eggs by noon time then I am done for the day. I guess things might change now. It's been 2 days since I've gotten an egg from the other SLW. They look exactly alike but one got a toe nail torn off shortly after I got them around T-day. They all fight to get into the coop or get out of the coop. And knock each other off the ladder. I think she must have gotten that toenail caught in the step. Bled quite a bit. But no problems. My four birds are BO Sally, ISABrown Bert, ( for BFF Roberta) Missing toenail ( it's growing back) is Thelma, and other SLW is Louise after my only ( older) sister. She passed in '79.
