So I got my coturnix when do they start laying?UPDATE!!!

Well I finally got quail,a trio of 2 browns and a golden.I though starting off small is the best way to go then I can inrease with some jumbo browns for egg laying and selling.I understand that they are probably shocked after being put into a new cage and new surroundings but do you know when they will start laying?There in the basement right now and ill start giveing them more light.If it helps one is a male.

At six weeks old they'll open the flood gates and you'll be up to your eyeballs in eggs, they're very prolific layers.

6 to 8 weeks depends on light, food and all kinds of good stuff

Ohh lol sorry I forgot to say that 1 female is about 6 months old and the other is 6 weeks,so how long do you think it takes to adjust to a different enviroment for them?

I'd probably give them a week or two if they were laying dependably before you changed things up.

DIsruption ala moving can delay their laying for a bit. I moved mine to an outdoor pen and they went on strike for about 4 days. Everyone is laying again, but now I have to hunt for eggs! LOL

UPDATE!!!I found an egg when I came home from school,I guess the move didnt affect them what so ever and I was even hearing the male call at night time.

So howl ong do you think they last so I can put them in the bator?Im ordering it today so maybe it will tke about a week or so?Maybe more,I want to have atleast 10 eggs in the bator so will they lasy 10 days?Thanks
