I was new to chickens this year and just had my first few roos butchered (RIR). The butcher was impressed with their size ... her male birds when butchered average at 4-5lbs, my guys butchered weighed in at 7-8lbs! They were spoiled to say the least and ate every leftover you can imagine.
i wish i had better pics to show off their size... with feathers, head, feet and guts he probably weighed close to 11 lbs!
