So I moved into a house with a coop & run..

HI!
I moved into a house that came with a fair sized coop and run.. and decided heck - why not get some hens!
So I did, fell in love and now have 33 hens and 6 ducks..

Needless to say I had to turn the storage shed into a coop and make the run much, much bigger...
I dont know about measurements.. but compare it size wise.. to the deck chairs and you'll understand

This is the length of it when I moved in.. the metal shed on the right was my storage for chickens.. is now the duck house. the TYVEK covered building is the coop.

This is coop as I got it (size wise) i've added tarps for rain protection.

Space that I've added.. this tree had branches coming right to the ground and it was a mess! so io cleaned it up and threw a fence around it.. made it great for chickens as they LOVE to roost on the tree trunks!

I bet those are some happy chickens!! It is such a fun looking run with lots of things to hide under and sit on top of. Lots of fun, aren't they?

What a great space for the girls. Lots of fun places to poke around at. They must love it!

They know it better than I do!
We're relocating the duck pond to a hole in the ground .. a real pond! that we're going to build when the bobcat that lives at our house returns. It'll go infront of that white tent next to the funny sideways tree in the extension to the run.
And I'm going to change the fence by the white tent to a real fence, also have to side the coop.. and I learned from a guy that bought a couple of my girls.. to take the fence wire & put it across the top of the run.. and cover it with tarp & it won't sag!
I'm a big fan of pretty, and my fiance is a carpenter foreman... so I always ask him for help.. but chickens just arent his thing!
I'm going to have to get him to help me create some sort of large water and food area..
Might build a little shed area with a water tank that I can just put the hose into when it's empty.. The waterer I have not I have to carry out - fill with water and carry back in.. and it's like 40lbs! and i want to cover the area from the coop to the fence infront of it.. so they can come and go from the coop in the winter without getting soaked.

I'm worried about mud though.. I don't want it to get mucky.. I've heard that's pretty bad for them!
