You get them from breeders rather than hatcheries.​

Yep, commercial hatcheries only sell Easter Eggers, mutts that may lay blue eggs, but can lay any color egg, white, brown, green, blue, tinted. They are mixed hatchery creations. Anyway, hatcheries sell them under the name of established breeds, Ameraucana and Araucana, as a marketing ploy. "Mutt Multri-Colored Egg Layer" sounds much less illustrious then Araucana. EEs have absolutely no standard, they can literally be any color in the rainbow, have any color legs, any type of comb (but the pea comb is strongly linked to the blue egg gene), etc.

You can only get Ameraucanas and Araucanas from breeders, usually in the form of hatching eggs, but some sell chicks and/or started stock.​
