why are they all in the run before the sun comes up??? I thought they couldn't see well in the dark that is why they go to roost before the sun sets??? & I'm talking dark as night in the early morning hours....do they see better then I thought they did???

maybe ur chickens have night vision.......
I dont think they see very good in the dark, but i do think they can see enough to walk around without banging into everything. its just that when it gets dark, they might not have enough light to roost. thats a lot harder to do in the dark.

I find it funny that its the younger birds who I find in the run in those early morning hours....the older hens are still up on their roosts! Those are the smart ones in my book!
