so about 3 weeks ago I bought 6 chickens and now as of today I have 40..Is this chicken math? They are very happy in my homemade outside brooder 8LX4WX4H, they have a plastic dog box with a heat light on one end and another heat light on the other end, and in the middle it stays about 70-75 ( on the cool nights when it gets down in the 40S).

They really seem to like it in there..lots of room to roam till they move to the coupe.

We have RIR, New Hampshires, Barred, Rocks, a Cochin, Blue laced Waydottes, Champines, Golden comets, Leghorns, Marans, red sex links, and I think that is it..lol

I will have lots of pictures to share because the youngest ones my Daughter is weighing and noting changes that they have each week for a Science Fair project called "Mary Mary How Do Your Chicks Grow"

I'm loving watching them grow and try to fly and chase each other around...

Thats chicken math for ya

Although he has enabled me and went with me to get chicks I think he would send me to the coupe if I got any more.

Although I must say he was very intently listening to the breeders today when we went to get those blue laced wynedottes (sp) about the chicken auction and their show quality birds and all that..

Chicken Math at its finest! I also only wanted to get 6 chickens to raise as hens for eggs. Currently I have 19 (one grown Roo though). That number could increase at any time, lol.

sounds like it to me. i also started out with 6 and now i have 30 and 4 more ordered and a few more on my list that i would like to have
