I've been pondering a winder box too... I'd like to find something to line it with so I don't have to worry about rot though.

At this point it's going to be painted the same color as our house used to be. Because I've still got 5 gallon buckets of body, trim and porch paint. I'm chea...err frugal about this kind of thing.

The whole floor is going to just be wire, so I'm hoping to get a pretty good air flow through convection. If it starts looking like that's not getting the job done, I'll just knock a couple more holes up high on the gable ends.

Got the painting done this weekend. Next time I build something this small, I'm going to paint the inside panels and pieces BEFORE assembly.

The tar paper and sticky backed rubber stuff I had laying around from a roofing project a couple years ago. Should have this thing roofed and wrapped up next weekend. Then it's on to the "exercise yard". Hopefully I can move my ladies in by the end of the month.

I got the roofing knocked out yesterday. I was originally going to use cedar fence boards, but then I saw these synthetic fence boards (think trex but thinner). I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

I've pretty much scrounged up all the conduit I need to build the run...so that's next.
