I have a domestic concord grape vine in my yard and also plenty of wild ones,I dont want them to go to waste so what should I do with them besisdes eating them raw.If you dont know they have seeds in them.

I freeze all my left over grapes....the girls love them as treats when they are cooped up in the coop!

And thinking of it...so does DH!

grape jelly is very time consuming. you mash the grapes and let them drain overnight into a pan.. then you use the juice to make jelly.. go online for recipes.. i have even heard of grape pies..you can find all sorts of things for them online

Homemade grape jelly is so good-------store stuff does not compare. It is pretty easy to make. I just follow the directions on the package of Sure-Jel.
You can make the juice up and either can it or freeze it for later use in making jelly, or just to drink. I am hoping to learn how to make wine this year. You all reminded me I need to get ahold of my MIL to see if the grapes are ready.

I just made this recipe last week, I cut the sugar by 1/2 cup but it really wasnt that hard.

I just used a potatoe masher and squashed the grapes on the stove in the pot.

Then I just strained the juice through a fine wire strainer. My jelly came out great.
I also froze a bunch of juice that wasnt strained , can drink later, make pies or make
more jelly with it in the winter...

I am making grape jam tomorrow, cuz the neighbor girls have so many grapes. I have never made grape jam but have looked at a few recipes that DO NOT need pectin cuz the grapes have so much pectin already. Any experienced jam makers out there want to second that? My neighbor made a grape pie and oh my my:weee it was so good!
Alos gonna launch some 1st time sauerkraut.
Canned ital plum jam today. So good.
