back story: I was supposed to use all of my fertile eggs from my Cochin, polish, and Cochin and barred rock, however my boyfriend got hungry ‍♀️ Long story short 3 of my eggs went in the bator
1 Pure cochin 1 polish/Cochin 1 pure polish

I purchased 11 lavender orpington splash fertile eggs. The eggs are pretty different in size I will say that.

Day 5 (today) I candled in my 3 little eggs plain as day can’t miss it def have chicks. The Cochin egg is showing signs of development I just can’t see the eye (4 veins) the Orpington eggs seem a day behind they look closer to day 3 u can see the air cells and on 2 of them I can see lots of veins but the rest I see air cells and nothing else. I’m a little worried they are just really behind bc they are a lot bigger .......advice

I know I just didn’t know if large eggs may require more humidity than the small or if I wasn’t supposed to put large and small together

They don't need different humidity. They're not in warmer/cooler areas of the incubator, are they? Is it forced air or still air?

Unless there's a definite temp gradient in your incubator, I think it's probably a little too early to worry. Sometimes, they look like they're behind when they're not.

Yea didn’t consider something would look a lot bigger in a smaller egg.
It has a small fan but I still manually have to control humidity which in southwest Louisiana is hard when the humidity in your house is 67 lol

I have not the lowest I can get it to with adding half the water recommended was 66

the AMOUNT of water isn't as important as the SURFACE AREA of the water.
A 1" diameter pipe that holds a gallon of water will have just 1" of surface area.
while a shallow pan, 12 inches square that holds a gallon of water will have a surface area of 144 square inches.
In your case, don't fill the reservoirs. maybe just put a small dish with less surface area in there.
that small fan is plenty for circulation.
