So nerve wracking!

So me and my boyfriend were at Costco when I realized I didn't put the chickens in the run before we left. When I realized, I literally just froze and almost started crying. My boyfriend said "RileyAnn, are you ok?" I said "OhMyGodIDidntLatchUpTheChickensWeNeedToGoHome" He said "uh, they're more than likely fine. Relax." I literally grabbed his shoulders and said "We need to go home. Now." He said "Ok. I'll pay and we'll go home." So we paid, loaded up the car and went home. We are 11 minutes away now. I'm still really nervous for my beloved girls, and being on BYC is helping to calm my nerves! I'll update y'all. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Did you go straight home when you realized?

UPDATE: They were completely fine! I locked them in the run and we are going to eat lunch before going to finish our errands!
