Hey, I'm Ambie. I just found this site in my quest for knowledge about raising meat birds. Honestly I just woke up this morning and decided I wanted chickens, but once I get something in my mind it's hard to let go so I've spent nearly the whole day reading reading reading(Whew! So much reading) and came across this site. Yay!

I'm here just to read up on other peoples experiences, etc for now but hopefully soon will be having my own birds. I had the idea of possibly finding someone in my area who already raises their own chickens, and volunteering to help them out, gaining experience and thus proving to the husband he should let me do this haha.

Little about myself: 23 y/o married for 5 years, two children. I love reading, writing, cooking, baking, and spending time with the family.

Hello and welcome to BYC! Here's a link to the meat birds, https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/21/meat-birds-etc. I'm sure any and all information needed about this bird is here! If you have any other questions, just ask! Have fun raising those big boys and girls! I somehow got one by mistake and man is it huge! But I'm hoping it survives the long haul as I won't be eating it!

Welcome to BYC!

Lots of hubbies are not on board at first. But they do come around eventually!

You might want to chat with your chicken neighbors in your state thread and maybe someone nearby you can help you learn. The more you know, the easier it will be to convince the hubby!....

Find your state in this link and do some chatting.

Good luck on this new adventure and I hope you can get a flock soon!

Welcome! You at the right place to learn!
