So proud of our girls!

We have four beautiful girls, now 23 weeks old...got our first egg 11 days ago (so exciting!) and as of this morning, they have given us 25 eggs! It's amazing! We know for sure that three of our girls are laying...not sure about the fourth because we've never gotten 4 eggs in one day and we've never heard her sing or "caught her in the act!" But 25 eggs in 11 days from brand-new layers? Wow, our girls really know their stuff! We're so proud of them!

We gave 4 eggs to a friend and 6 to our neighbor (who was kind enough to call when one of our chickens flew into his yard...lol...) And we've had a couple really fine breakfasts!

Now for the big news...it's official...our 4th girl is laying! Today was our first 4-egg day!

We put up some netting so our girls can't fly over the fence anymore, but something tells me the neighbor is going to be getting a lot of eggs anyway
