I feel the same way as you. I used to love foxes, they're beautiful, intelligent, playful... But then one got one of our ducks, and I've been resentful towards them and all other predators since. I'm really sorry about your loss

Please don't stop taking vacations because of this one incident. It could've happened with you at home in the yard. Critters start getting pretty brave once they know where an easy meal lives.

Maybe there's a decent high school student around you could ask and pay to critter-sit --- I'd check with your vet for suggestions.
