So sad. My Duckies are missing.

I have kept my 4 ducklings outside for the last 2 weeks. They are almost fully feathered. At first I would round them up and lock them in their kennel. I have a chain link fence all around my backyard. And I have blocked all holes. So since the weather is warmer and they seemed to be fine by themselves, I didn't lock them up the last couple of days. This morning they were gone. No signs of a struggle or anything so I assume they got out on their own or someone took them. I walked around my whole fence and cannot see how they could have squeezed out. I walked around everywhere and drove around everywhere. They are nowhere in sight. I am so sad. I don't want to have to start all over again.

So sorry - I hate they have gone missing.

I really hope too that it wasn't a 'two-legged' predator....we have enough out there that wants to eat our poultry without having people stealing them!

I hope they just went on an adventure and will be back soon. Sorry to hear that, I panick now when any of my stuff is "missing." Just yesterday, all but 4-5 adolescent chickens, had gone missing. I looked and I called and I was really worried because the amount missing was 3 adults and at least a dozen more adolescents. Finally the rooster came running out of our hay barn followed by the rest of the crew.

*sigh of relief* Turns out DH threw the rooster into the hay barn, in hopes the rooster would run and get the rest of the flock to clean up the spilled oats in the hay barn.

Maybe your duckies just went exploring. When I had some they would do this on occasion and I would find them later.

Hope they come home safe and hungry.

Sorry to hear about your ducks missing.
I had 3 of 4 Pekins 6 weeks old disappear without a trace. Now I lock up the lone duck at night. But I have 10 more ducks coming from Mc Murray hatchery next week.
I really need to find out what got the three or I will probably loose these :>(
