Well I have been calling between the 2 local TSC for almost a week now every few day's.The bantam's had been selling pretty fast. Our one in town didn't get any in last week just some straight run, pullets and more duckling's.I called the one in next town 22 mile's away where I bought the last 15 to see if they had or going to get anymore. The guy said yes We got some in Sat.And they arrived all dead OMG

.Poor little chick's.I got some nice one's last run there and wound up with 3 gold sebright's and 8 millie fleur and some little white clean leg ones.I am hoping they will get more but if they have to die to get here I can do without them or will buy some hatching egg's.So sad.

My chicks got off a plane an hour from my house and got put on the wrong truck. An extra day and a half and 400 miles later 10 out of 25 bantams were DOA. The rest were weak and lost another 6 in the next 24 hours. All the standards made it. Bad thing is a PO a couple hous away called me the morning they were supposed to be here and told me what happened and they would get someone to bring them too me right after lunch. When I called back at two no one knew what I was talking about and the chicks had been put on another truck for another 200 miles and a day of riding. The PO usually does a good job but every now and then this happens.

I was at my local TSC today and found some "Assorted Bantams". When I asked a clerk what the assortment was made up of, she replied, "They're all Bantams, that's the breed. Assorted just means that they may be male or female". I was so flustered that someone who sells chicks is that clueless!

My daughter and I were looking at some adorable babies who had fuzzy legs, five toes, and a puff of fur on the top of their little heads. Can anyone tell me what these may have been?

We were thinking of buying them, but I would like to have some idea of what they are. Thanks!

I agree. That sounds like silkies. Silkies are great chickens. Small in size, five toes, fuzzy hairdoos, feather footed. They make the best broody hens and great mothers
