I am new to the chicken world and I got 5 baby chicks at abt 2 wks. They are now 5 wks and out of nowhere 2 of them passed away!!! This has been so hard on me and my 5yr old!!!! I am just dumbfounded as to what went wrong...

They started inside with heat lamp. A week ago I moved them outside still with the lamp, we are in AZ so it is perfect out. They even get to eat grass when mg son takes them out...***?! Should I turn the lamp off?? Help

! Pleased you joined our flock but sorry to hear about your two losses! That is always rough. I'm thinking possibly too cold or too warm. When did they die? Day time or overnight? When you say it is perfect out - it may be in the day time - did they have shade? Or at night what do the temps dip down to? Can they get both close to and away from the heat lamp?

Gets down to 60° high of 89° but they have shade

They can get away from the lamp. One died in the morning the other the afternoon before.
