My Whiting True Blue chick, pullet, keeps scratching at her eyelid and it bleeds everywhere (two weeks ago it got swollen, maybe one of the others stepped on her head, and she scratches the scab open, bleeding everywhere, so we try to keep her separated). The vet is being a jerk and not responding to me, obviously doesn't care. She's now smaller than all her sisters (different breeds) and I don't know what to do! Please help.

All I can say is keep the cut clean cuz if it gets infected your chick could become really Ill or worse blind. I'm not sure if there is any sort of cream or drops that you could use to stop the itch. Or maybe an eye patch. (Then you could name her Cleopatra

I took her to a new vet this morning and they had a tiny cone made from a milk jug! Super happy with this new vet. They didn't even charge me! The old vet situation escalated last night with some lame excuses and a nasty email to me, and I will NEVER go back there, even if it's a university teaching hospital. Boo hiss.
