I think our guineas are so cute, except for the adolescent ugly stage. I mean, they've got eyelashes, for goodness sake! What's not to like?

My husband still maintains that they're ugly, even though he pretty much dotes on ours.

All in the eye of the beholder I guess.

I think it's more that they are thought to have some common or related ancestors, not that birds came straight down the family tree...

Regardless, I love jenjscott's daughter's description. It's a very cool way of describing them, especially after seeing some of these head shots. TNchicks, what kind IS that one? She's (he?) gorgious! I may just have to get some, though I won't be getting fancies.
