Hi everyone, this is my first post although I have been reading posts for a few years
I have been hatching chick eggs, only one batch a year this is my third year. I picked up my chicken eggs and have been incubating them for a few weeks. At lock down I did what t you you are supposed to do and stopped turning them, upped the humidity and waited. The wait is so hard to begin with then the days started passing and I thought I was crazy, counting the days and recounting. At day 23 I re candled and I could still see movement and this time I put the candler on both ends and could see the yolk was not absorbed yet. I know I had the heat at the right temp the whole time so I did not understand why they were so small that I could see them. Candled again today day 25, one did appear dead so I opened it and it was a DUCK! I ordered chickens and it was a duck. It has been a year and the eggs are small for ducks so I did not know. Now I am so worried, they are still alive but have not been turned and it appears they might be head down at the bottom of the egg. I read on one site to turn until day 26 but if I turn now it has been days will that hurt them more? They have nice air sacks but they have not been misted and the humidity has been high since day 19. Please if anyone has any advice to help these poor babies, leave them in lock down, turn them, anything??? Thank so much!
