So we finally decided on a coop and run style. Big enough for all the Chickie's yet easy to make, maintain, predator proof and add too if necessary.

Looks good! How many chickens? Will you create a fenced run around it (even if they free-range to some extent)?

we built an elevated coop, and it has been a good thing. It is about 2’ behind the barn, so shady and protected from the west winter winds. Being elevated gives them shade and a sense of protection.

A dozen chickens. Coop will be 8 x 6 with a very strong predator proof 10x16 attached run. Predators are every where here so we will be making a very strong fencing system with tarped slanted roof... Thank you we will photos as we go

I built it. I added some extra floor joists, ventilation, windows and doors and changed the style of the nest boxes. Take a look at this article.
Don't build a not walk in style run!
