So, what does everyone do with the roosters?

I love the idea of hatching my own little chicks, but what am I supposed to do with 10 roosters? That would totally be my luck!!

What do you guys do?

There's really only 2 choices. Eat them or sell/give them away.

That's what I figured... I didn't know if there was some secret alternative that I didn't know about as a chicken newbie!

Selling them cheap to those that will eat them is what usually do.

There is another alternative, though it is a bit controversial, and that is to make the little guys capons. In other words, neuter them.

I've had decent luck recently selling a few. However, I really want to get up the nerve to process my own once so I can have that option. It's just tough when my daughter names every one that hatches! LOL!
