So what would you have done differently?

I wouldnt change anything that i have done for the quail as far as pens and feeders. I did a lot of reading on here and other places and put together what i thought would be the perfect pens usings the pro's and con's of everyone elses experiences. I am a quick learner and adapt quickly when a problem arrises, and i fix it as fast and effecient as i can, plus i enjoy building and designing things!!

The only problem I really had was the quail climbing up into the feeder into the jar and getting cooked. I'm only using the round metal feeder now without a jar or if I do use the jar I will cut out some hardware cloth and put it in there so they can't climb in. Also marbles in the waterer until old enough not to drown

i would have put hot wire around my pens to start with and my outdoor grow out pens would have 1/2 x1 wire instead of 1x2 as 3-4 week old quail can still squeeze through 1x2 if they are motivated enough
