So what's the SECOND broodiest breed?

HAHAHA! I've got a hen I'm not using!

I "may" have more this fall but Lord only knows what other perils the predators have waiting for me!

Everybody says Silkies and Cochins are the best broodies.... but believe it or not our serama are more broody then our silkies, cochins, white rocks, RIR's and EE's put together!

LOL, I've got Araucana hens like that. They are stubborn girls. I was just thinking the other day about my one hen, Cloud. She sits for weeks on end, then finally breaks for a couple weeks. Just when I think she might lay an egg, she goes broody again.

I don't think I ever get an egg from her, now that I think about it.

I've got quite a few buff orps that like to brood too. But at least they lay some eggs before they decide to sit.

i looked at the partidge rocks over at mcmurry's site, it only has a pic. of the hens.

do they have a single comb or not?

anybody know where to see some pics. of a partridge rock, hen & rooster?

Yep they have a single comb. Do a search here on BYC for them. There are many posts with pics of them some good some not so good. Feather site does not have great pics either. I think Privette does but it has been awhile sine I have been on there site. All my pics of our chicks no adults yet. The pattern on these is double pencilling or lacing like the barnvelder.

I think its OEG's my friend whold flock is broody at the moment I even snuck over there to put some of my BR's eggs but don't tell him
