Soap Makers Help!

Getting abundant lather in one mission in creating a good shaving soap.

Maintaining that lather is another and the most hard. Men want the lather to be big and thick and lasting! They don't want the bubbles to start breaking down.

To do this, you need to add stearic acid (or use oils high in stearic acid).

Steric acid will accelerate trace.

Avocado Oil is a wonderful oil to use. It has a high percentage of unsaponifiables. It contains vitamins A, B1, B2 pantothenic acid, Vit D, E, protein & lecithin. It is said to have healing and regenerating qualities.

I can't wait to use it. I'm going to be using it later today. YEAH! I have been watching the window everyday all week and I know what the postal workers truck sounds like and then I heard the UPS truck stop in front of the house lol. The box barely hit the ground and I had it lol. That mold is just so neat. I was reading the instructions for it and it said that is was made slightly difrent then it used to be because her husband cut his fingers off. That had to hurt like heck but I'm glad he is still making the molds. This going to be so much fun

Yeah!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait to hear how it soaps!

I made my Oatmeal milk and honey soap last night and cut it this morning. It's ORANGE!!!! I really hope the color mellows. I used the failed yogurt as 100% of the liquid, 2 TBL ground oatmeal and 4.5 oz camden geys OMH FO. I liked Bramble Berries OMH a lot better. Here's a picture.

I will post pictuers of my soap in the mold in a little while after I uncover it. Have any of you ever made felted soap? I found a place I can order carded wool from and I have instructions on how to make it but I wanted to hear from you ladies first about it. Thanks

Oh and I almost forgot! I called my local farmers market for info and an app. She asked what I would be brining and when I told her soap she was really suprised. She said she has never had anyone sell soap before. She wasn't even sure what catagory to put me in lol. So she emailed the app and all the info right away. I guess that means I'm a shoe in lol. Just think, I'll be the only soaper there

I made 3 small batches of soap yesterday. No dies, no clays, no colorants. All natural, 100% food grade ingredients and natural chemical reactions.

I'd love to know how you got that lovely green color, MP.

My orange soap has started to darken to brownish orange. I'm going to rename it to Grandma's Kitchen. Camden Grey's OMH FO has much more spice notes to it than Bramblr Berry's did. I'm hoping as it cures some sweeter notes come back.

I made a Morrocan Mint Swirl last night. Since I didn't want to color the whole thing with the liquid chlorophyll(Iusually add it to the oils), I added it to the fragrance. Once soap was thin trace, I took some out, added the colored fragrance to the big pot and it worked really well. I hand stired some fragrance to the uncolored part that didn't have any chlorophyll. Once I cut it up, I'll post pictures.
