Soap Makers Help!

So sorry to hear that! I have had that happen before and it sucks. Try Natures Garden, I think they would have the best shipping to you and should have everything you need. And like I said, you can change liquid oils for different liquid oils. I can't use jojoba so sub rice bran oil.

I'm so proud of myself...I have to share:) I started milking again and made 4 lbs of cheese last weekend...but what I'm proud of is...
I remembered to measure out my milk for soap before I froze it

so it's the exact amount I need for a batch. I didn't do that last yr, I just filled the baggie and froze it. What a pain chipping off the excess or having little bits of extra in the fridge.

Yay me! and my simple pleasures...lol

I'm swimming in milk here right now and am horrible at cheese! So I've been soaping up too. I made a lemon poppy seed batch a few weeks ago and it came out great I think! I'll get pics soon, but I colored the main bar yellow and put the poppy seeds in that portion, then swirled in black.

I'm going to attempt my cucumber melon again and not even use the stick blender. Here's what happend on my first attempt:

I've realized that when I want to swirl multiple colors I really don't even need to use the stick blender. Each time I do the batter gets thick very quickly and I end up with something like the above. I'm actually thinking what I may do is color a little over half with the green, stick blend it so it gets thick and shape it in the mold so it creates a U shape. Then I'll color the remaining orange and pour it on the green....think that would work?

That sounds like a cool idea. Course now my mind is running to a pvc mold to make half round slices... guess you'd have to cut the pvc in half lengthwise for that to work though.

I was thinking PVC pipe, too, but figured I could just cut that step out if I make the green portion reach a thick trace. I was going to try it last night, but life got in the way. Doesn't everyone know I'd rather do what I want to do?

I would think it would be easier to leave the PVC round and put a smaller PVC inside it. Fill the outer ring with your first color. Let it set up enough to pull the center PVC out...fill the center with your 2nd color? I've never tried it...

Pics of my soaps so far.
Left Oatmeal, milk, & honey with crushed oatmeal; right chamomille and neroli with crushed chamomille. First attempt at ITP swirl

This was supposed to be a gray and pink swirl for twilight woods scent, but I messed up so it was gonna be just grey with pink swirl on top, pink isnt very dark, but more pink than you can tell in the pic. And a little ash which I read is common when using black oxide. Its hard to tell but it turned almost a deep eggplant-y purple

I used a 4 inch pvc pipe, lined with parchment paper and capped on one end. Filled it with soap and then when set, slid out the bar, cut the slices and then cut each one in half. Worked great for 1/2 circle bars.
