Soap Makers Help!

I've had good behavior with Lilac both from Sweetcakes and the Scentworks, at least as far as accelleration. The thing I hate about lilac is that lilac fo's tend to discolor towards yellow. I want nice purple soap, not the dingy gray that results from purple plus yellow.

MullersLaneFarm ~ You asked a question on another thread regarding goat milk soap being either poured or cold/hot pressed. I like goat's milk soap and am curious about your question, whether it makes a difference to the consumer.

I know nothing about making soap...have enough hobbies, but I do buy it!! haaaa

being either poured or cold/hot pressed.

It was about if the soap was made using a Melt & Pour base or if it was real soap made using hot or cold process.

They are two totally differently things with most of the M&P being a Syn Det (synthetic detergent) and hot or cold process being real soap made using base oils, then combined with lye dispersed in a liquid.

Some milk soaps are made using milk as all of the liquid to dissolve and disperse the lye. Other milk soaps will use a % of the liquid as milk and others yet use powdered milk.

Thought everyone would find this hilarious....for Easter we went camping in our motorhome and I always take a project for me and the kids to do. It was glycerin soap this time....made a HUGE mess and took 2 hrs to clean up lol. good thing it was soap just had to scrub and scrub and scrub lol. We got about 4 dozen funny looking soaps now...they all couldn't stop laughing about it here lol. This will supercede the exploding yams disaster from Thanksgiving a few yrs back now ...but thats another story altogether ROFL.

Sounds like a good time, CMommy!!!

Guess what, ya'll? I just scored 100 pounds of Palm Oil for FREE!!!!

Very cool, Itsy.

I feel the same way when we get our pigs processed every year and our customers don't want the leaf fat .... I get it all! Let me tell you, there is a lot of lard from 6 old style Berkshire hogs!!

That's cool, Cyndi! I need to learn how to refine animal fat..... hmm.........

On another topic - Anyone know of a company that would print me professional glossy soap wrappers? I'm not talking about bands or boxes - I mean the full wrapper like you would see on an individual Ivory bar.

I've been searching all over the place and contacted a few corporations, but I don't know if they would work with someone small like me.
