Soap Makers Help!

MP Those look gorgeous!

Cheeptrick- I'm glad to know that they go fast! I had also thought of making drawer scenters with them in complimentary scents with the soap. I'm trying to get into our city's watermelon festival this summer in July. The booth fee is $65 for the whole weekend for a 20x20 stall. i'm planning to try and do a watermelon scented soap just for that.

Oh my gosh MP!!! They are beautiful! I can't wait ti ll I get that good

Yeah, me too! Beautiful!

I just hope that my rustic garden themed soaps aren't the ugly ducklings of the swap! I'm just hoping to get the "she (the soap) has such a good personality" comments since they're not exactly in the running for Beauty Queen.

I like rustic soaps. Mine are rustic to me. Thank you for the compliments. The green bar is colored with english cucumber I put through the food processor.

It is so fun doing the shows...having folks come to your table/booth and seeing the customer first hand appreciate all your hard work is thrilling.

WATERMELON OH OH pour a green chlorophyll layer in to a log mold and suspend a vaseline slathered PVC pipe mold in the soap with a wooden dowel holding it in suspension in the soap to give you the round look of the rind and then next day remove the pipe and make the red watermelon layer and pour it in the dip the pvc made and PUT poppy seeds in the RED layer!! It'll look like REAL watermelon....ok....I'm making watermelon!! Darn you...

OR you can just CARVE out the log with an ice cream scoop to make the rounded layer.

I made a grapefruit swirled with white tonight.

I love your idea about the rind! I was planning on just layering a green rind about 3/4 inch high with pink or red for the rest and use charcole to make the seeds confetti style. I was going to go for a funky square shaped watermelon "slice" but I might do it your way instead. Luckly I have a bit of time to get it down. Do you think the vaseline would leave a layer on the soap? And does anyone know of a good watermelon scent?
