Soap Makers Help!

I boiled water and added it to the rose petals. The water looks really pretty. I think I am going to make soap tomorrow sometime. DH is off of work and so when he isn't at work I don't get anything done lol. He is hardly home so we take advantage of it. So probably tomorrow night I will get a chance to use he rose water.

You mentioned that you have successfully made your chocolate soap in smaller batches before.
When I double or triple a proven recipe, I notice a little zap not noticed in the original soap.
I have found it a good idea to run the larger amounts of oil and lye thru a calculator just to check it out.
On a three pound recipe: I often reduce the lye by 1/2 ounce on a doubled recipe and 1 ounce on a tripled recipe.

Thanks for that tip Nanakat. I ran it thru the calc but just not sure what happened. Do you think I can save it by rebatching? I hope I can do something with it.

I got my wool in the mail! Now I can give felted soap a try! I think people around here would really like it. I had a lady on Craig's list ask if I put any of my soaps into sleeves of any kind. That's when I decided to try the felting. I think I'm going to try it on one of my Sandalwood soaps tonight. I did that rose infusion last night and I think I will use it tonight. I can't let the chocolate soap get me down right ladies

I got on Etsy and my soaps are just pretty basic ones but I have had people looking at them

Haven't sold any on there yet but I can take any encouragment I can get from people looking at them

I delievered my 18 soaps to the Health food store!

She said to come back around the first for new order. I hope I can keep up a steady income from them.
I also sent off my soap for the swap. I put your clay in there chiknwhisperer and a note to SMom.

Ok, I'm sure you will all notice that all the soaps to the right of the blue one suck. The blue one was the fourth try today. That one didn't turn out so bad. I can see that this is going to take lots of practice before I am happy with the results.
