Soap Makers Help!

As soon as the melt and pour is hard it is ready to use....

I'll use MP when I have a something to embed in my soaps or when I'm feeling a little lazy....

I bought a book, don't remeber the name, but she had you use store bought soap and shred it up.... I wanted to see what it would turn out like and bought some Ivory soap and surprisingly it came out nice with adding some goat's milk and shea butter to it.... The kids gave it to their teachers for the end of the year gifts....

I love to experiment and although you hear how dangerous lye is, mixing bleach and anomina is worse in my opinion.... DH picked up a bottle I had anomina in and thinking it was the watered down bleach bottle, poured bleach in it and we had a terrible mess and smell.....

Always use caution and wear protection.... follow the directions of always pour lye into your liquid and you'll be fine.....

Being a little scared will keep you from making a big mistake and working thru your fears is a great high when it goes well..... IMHO

Whew, we are back from the Hogeye Festival. We had a great time, did awesome, and the best part was I got to meet TammyTx and she gave me a bar of soap and it smells devine! I can't remember what scent she said it was, but it a warm buttery spice scent. Perfect for the holidays.

I sold out of cucumber and OMH completly. Earth child did really well. I think it's going to be a good seller. I hope everyone else had a good wekkend.

It was a beautiful day yesterday! I bought some really great soap and I'm enjoying it already.

That is pumpkin and spice soap with Pumpkin Cornbread FO. I hope you enjoy it although I feel it is a far less superior product than what you are used to!!

No it smells wonderful! I haven't used it yet though. But I'm sure it will be a great bar. I really like the texture and feel of yours. Do you use canola oil? I noticed it was really shiny and smooth.

I think I'm going to soap some crusader shaving bars tonight.

No, I didn't use canola this time. I used: Palm, olive, coconut, castor and sunflower. I'm sorry I didn't put the ingredients on there. There is also real pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger and turmeric (for added color).

After drying I give them a quick rinse and then put them back on the rack to dry again. It's a little time consuming but I like the polished look.

Ok I was wondering how you got them that polished! When I used canola it gave me a shinier bar, but not as much as yours. You bar is very conditioning and I enjoyed it very much!

Did you use dried ginger? What color did it give? I haven't used that yet.

Are you getting the same rain I am? Man it was bad this morning.

I did use dried ginger and it is mixed in with the dark brown cinnamon so I don't know if it would color morph on it's own or not.

Yes! Lots of rain!! Our road was flooded but we could still get through. It was not good to drive in. I'm not complaining!! We should have good rye grass this year for our old horse.

Can't help that you give good ideas... I make soap pockets out of wash clothes.... and reuse empty 1/2 and 1/2 containers for my molds..... feel free to use those...

Not only does DH and I use a lot of creamer for coffee, I also have a cafe at work that they save their cartons for me to use.... I do wish I could reuse them but with as many as I have, I don't think if I soaped everyday for a month, I'd use them all....
