I know nothing about beet powder but I used a small amount of beet juice (from my own - so nothing added, not even salt) and the bars were a beautiful yellow but have faded very light after 5 weeks. The lye solution was still hot when I put it in there (unfrozen) so that's why the yellow, it burned a bit. I have a bunch frozen into cubes and plan to try that out with the next batch. I suspect all the color will eventually fade out though, especially given what one of the posters above said.

Yesterday I made Lemon Verbena with Poppy Seed soap. Am still trying out some ideas I have with adding glycerine, still not happy with the results. Otherwise would have been a pretty soap.

The yellow mass is the glycerine, boo. That is so not a swirl. Back to the drawing board.

Made a batch of goatmilk, oatmeal, (forgot to add the honey

) . Do I cover goatmilk soap? I thought I read somewhere not to cover it. I have it covered right now(about 45 -60 min). It is in a wooden mold with freezer paper on top.
