Soap Makers Help!

Hi everyone it has been a looong time since I posted in here. Everyone soaps look good. I am getting ready to make another batch for the house. SS Sea Air Sandlewood will be the scent this time and maybe one of my florals. Since hubby is on the road he has to take soap with him so I can just have mine now for me.

I like use the KISS method

. I only use 3 oils plus scent. My last batch went well but scent did not make it past 6 months. Now that SS has shut down and new person is only selling 8oz or more I will be buying from somewhere else. Probably SW, Ng and Camden Grey as they are closest to me and real good.

Very Pretty Freckle!! These are your first??? Wow! With color! I'm impressed! I'm on my fifth batch and still haven't tried color. What did you use for color? If I get my shipment in tomorrow, I am going to color my lavender/peppermint. Hopefully I will get to soap this weekend!

We've had several on the soap threads. If you can cook, you can make soap. I would suggest you read the "soapmakers help!" thread. That is where I started. I read the whole thing and took notes. Lots of good info and soapers are very helpful if you have any questions. Welcome to soapmaking!

mom'sfolly :

I just wanted to ask you guys who's honey almond fragrance do you like the best? I want to make some honey almond goat milk soap, but I don't know who has the best fragrance. I want something with a strong almond scent, but with the sweetness of honey, and maybe some vanilla notes.

I somehow missed this page! So far i've only used omh from brambleberry and LOVE it!! Everyone that has tried the soap does too.
I believe the biggest challenge in making soap is figuring whether to use fo's, eo's and which ones, which oils to use and how many! Whew!!!

At least for me it is. I'm still trying to find the right basic recipe that I like and experimenting with scents. Lots of $$'s so far! Hopefully soon I will get it all together so I can just whip up batch after batch!!!
