Soap Makers Help!

You all will be happy to know I have infected my 4, almost 5, year old with the soaping bug. Of course I never let her anywhere near any of the stuff I make and TRY to do it when she's asleep but she wants to help with everything. My mom bought her some little kit at Kohls for 10 dollars that makes 4 little mint size bars of pink transparent strawberry smelling glittery soap. Then she wanted to do more. So, I went to Hobby Lobby and bought her 2 pounds of melt and pour, 2 fragrances and a mold for making animal head suckers in the candy isle. She's in heaven! We soaped a few nights ago and did it again tonight because she sold all of what she had made

She's so fun! Oh, and did I mention, I haven't gotten to sell any of mine yet because its just getting ready to be ready

but I do have people waiting.

Wow, that's great!! She's going to become just as addicted as we are when she's old enough to handle the lye. Hehehe. And that's also wonderful that people are already waiting for your soap. I have sent most of mine away and I've got my most recent batches made with shea butter / palm kernel oil flakes curing. I love these so much better!!

For real soap, you can buy CP soap noodles and rebatch them in a crock pot or get Melt & Pour and play around with that.

What are soap noodles? Are they noodles of soap? And i have no idea where to get melt and pour soap stuff.

Go to a craft store and find the soap and candle making section. There will be melt and pour kits to get you started. Then you can buy other frgrances, colorants, additives and it goes on and on.

Soap noodles are real cold/hot processed soap that has been shredded. You basically melt them down (they will be gloppy), add scent & coloring then mold it.

The M&P soap kits you get from craft stores are pretty harsh, but it is a good way to get started

Since you are in Ca, I would look around at the www.brambleberry.com

You can get some great melt and pour base there and color, fragrance and tons of other stuff too.
