Hey everybody, I wanted to know if any of you "poultry psychologists" can diagnose a certain chick; he is the largest of the six-strong flock, and is completely socially off (no offense). When the other ones discover food, and begin crowding around and pecking at it, he'll slowly lumber over and just walk straight into them, and usually won't even take any food! His goal, it seems, is to break up the peace. Additionally, he will often randomly try to pick fights with the other chicks for no reason, he'll just stand tall and stare them down and try pecking at them. He is also the most resistant to being picked up- when he is, he will squirm and squeal until he is either put down or is out of energy (almost). Anybody familiar with this?
PS I understand chicken psychology is of virtually no actual importance in real life, I was just curious...

Age of these chicks? Are you assuming this is a cockerel or is it just a handy pronoun used for semantic purposes?

Chicken psychology is a real thing, and some of us deem it to be relevant to managing our flocks.

A photo of this individual might be of help.

I have a hen who is a social misfit too - she is the runt of the group and seems to be at the bottom of the pecking order. She does similar things; runs through food piles, tips over the treat dish, pushes people off the playground in the run. They seem to leave her alone now that she has started to be a jerk so I'm not sure. I'll be intrigued to see what others say.
