SPIT!!!!!!!!

Without going into the gory details, I have five (possibly six) medical conditions. Any one of these conditions alone could conceivably qualify for me for social security disability.
I have been receiving SSD since 1996. Before that I worked long enough and paid in enough quarters to qualify for it.

Two and a half months ago I received the dreaded letter and paperwork from SS telling me they wanted to review my case. I've been thru the reviews before and each time surprise! I'm still disabled. Maybe it has something to do with my medical conditions being LIFE LONG - as in no cure, but whatever.

Going thru the routine, I jumped thru all the hoops, crossed all my Ts and dotted all my I's. Sent it all back to SS and waited.

I just got a letter from them...."We sent you a letter telling you that we were going to review your disability case. However, we don't need to review your case at this time".

Your tax dollars at work folks! Mine too, since I have continued to pay into the system!

I fully understand how our govt "works". My Grandfather is a disabled Veteran. He got a letter from Medicare telling him that some ER services had would not be paid. The reason, and these are the EXACT words:

"Mr. House,
The reason for this letter is to inform you that the services that you received on XX/XX/XXXX, will not be paid by Medicare. The reason these services do not qualify for payment is due to the fact that the services were rendered after the date of you death. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at 1800BLA BLA. "
It was addressed to him, not his family. He called and called. It took him 4 months to get it straightened out. He didn't get his SS check for 6 months. I feel you pain.

Oh that's a good one! The VA initially denied my ex husband a replacement wheelchair until/unless he went thru their "wheelchair training class" first. This was in 1999.
He's been in a wheelchair since 1968, after he stepped on a booby trap in Vietnam and lost three limbs.

Papaw use to use the VA in Atlanta. It was sickening to see how lazy the staff was. I'm grateful that it was free to him, but it was very sub standard. Now He uses the clinic in Rome. Its much better. The people seem to care and are very nice. The people in Atlanta acted like it was a huge inconvenience for them to have to do anything. Drove me nuts!!!!!!
