Socializing chicks

We have four 4 week old chicks, and we got them from someone who kept them in a shed. So.... They are not used to being around humans. Are there any tricks for getting them used to us, or at least not so terrified when we walk into their room??

We had them in the living room, but we have two children under three years. And they are loud (kids, not birds) so we moved the chicks to the laundry room. Will they warm up to us in time? :/

The best way to get them to warm up to you is hand feed them yummy treats, such as mealworms! Soon they'll come running if they think you might have food. Here is the chick treat chart to help you get started!
