So of our 4 mallard ducks that made it through hatching, we're hoping to keep a drake as a pet. (Assuming we get one.) We'd like to "train" him to be a pet. The hope is we could take him out on our boat with us.
Is this feasible? We spend quite a bit of time with them and we try handling them. We've been hand feeding them some mashed green peas. But they're still quite fearful. (Getting them out of the pool and back in the hutch is a comedy routine...) Age: 4 weeks.
