I'm new to all this - just got my first chicks ever - and have gotten SO much information from this forum! And it's good to know you all are out there if something goes wrong and I need help!

Here's something I thought of myself, and it is a big hit with my two 2-day-old chicks.
I stuffed a sock with paper towels and put it in the brooder. They spend a lot of their time sitting on it or behind it. (It's a couple inches from the side.) Maybe it's a mama hen substitute for them!

(And when it gets too gross, I have another one just like it!)

Good idea. Lots of times people use a small stuffed animal -- but the chicks could care less whether it looks like a frog or whatever. Makes a cute pic, though.

sounds cute! maybe I should try.....

Byc is super helpful isn't it! I love it!

I've always just stocked up on little stuffed animals when they go on sale at Petsmart, but I love both the sock and feather duster ideas. Thanx!
