What are you putting in the water for calcium? I would not put crushed oyster shell in the food. It should be in a separate container from food to take as needed. To lay eggs they need D3 as well as calcium in the food. They need a balanced chicken crumble or pellet feed, and if you give too much other things, like corn or scratch, or other thing, that can dilute the calcium and protein.
They may be pecking out their own or others chest feathers to eat for protein. Are they spending much time on a roost or is the roost rough?
i would offer each hen a human calcium citrate tablet with D 3 300-600mg daily for a week. If they don’t lay hard shells after that, it may be something wrong with their oviduct and shell gland. Do they seem stressed? Do you have a rooster? Is there any bullying?
Have you ever seen any respiratory virus where they sneezed for a couple of weeks. Infectious bronchitis can cause shell issues later on. I would not think they are getting too much calcium, but maybe not enough balance in D3. Usually that causes calcium deposits on shells.
