Soft egg shell

I just collected eggs and one of my hens laid a soft shelled egg. ?????? curious to know what is going on. Other are hard shelled. They free range in my back yard ....... what am i missing.....

It can happen....for various reasons.
More info is needed.
How old is bird and how long has she been laying?
Any stressors lately; new birds added, predator attack, changes to coop or run?
What and how exactly are you feeding?
What is your general geographical location?

I get one from time to time, Usually caused by a stressed out hen, laid too early, or jumped down from the perch too hard!.. Even airplanes make hard landings sometimes.
I make sure the feed is fresh, add eggshell or oyster shell, free choice, to the feed area. and fresh water
